Instrument pilot currency and commercial pilot ceritifcation proposed changes
May 20th 2016
- Allowing the use of an Aviation Training Device (ATD) for instrument pilots to maintain their 6-month instrument currency without the supervision of a CFII.
- To obtain a Commercial Pilot certificate, you will no longer need to have the 10 hours of complex aircraft experience nor use a complex aircraft for the practical test. Instead you would be able to use a Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) which includes a Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Multifunction Flight Display (MFD).
